Module 8 What I learned....

Hello Bloggers

I have been reading the Covey book and regularly using the Covey website and wanted to share with you one thing I learned about in this book. I learned about Zapatista movement and its profound affects on society through public perspective. They talk about how its not a ideology but intuition through failed revolutions they term zapatismo. The idea that its not a power shift or a perception of power holders and their control but more a mind set for a outcome to chnge relations within the powerstructures not merley an election outcome or inssurections. This whole concept is facinating and moveing for me. I always had heard about this issue and thought it was typical power shift struggles or change, but after reading more about it and perspectives from numerous authors and their take on it I realize its a much more powerful attempt to create societal change through behaviors and communication that afect the peoples. The movement is to liberate people from their bonds of seperation and create a more common view and what i see as a egalitarian positioning for all the people to help reduce their disconnection. The idea of hope being restored and is no longer fixed into to a destined future but in the hands of people for their own destiny and future to better their selves and their soceities. Thanks for reading Aloha Jon
